As English students, Rose and I feel compelled to complete the 30 Day Book Challenge. (So far we’re not doing too splendidly as we’re already starting 3 days late.) Because Rose has once again flown the coup and left me by myself *cue sad violin music*, 2 of her three answers are pending.
Day 1 - The Best book you read last year:
Rose: The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet
Hannah: Room by Emma Donoghue
Day 2 - A book that you’ve read more than three times:
Rose: Answer pending
Hannah: This sounds incrediably immature, but I must have read each of the Harry Potter books AT LEAST five times. Possibly more than five times for books three and four…
Day 3 - Your favourite Series
Rose: Answer pending
Hannah: Am I allowed to say two series? The first would be the four books written by Scott Westerfield, Uglies, Pretties, Extras, Specials. I read them in my early teens and they were, to my mind, amazing. They have the ’society gone bad’ vibe to them, as well as an introspective view of human nature.
The second set of books I would mention (if you’re allowed to write two) are the Sherlock Holmes stories written by Arthur Conan-Doyle. I hestitate to write this one, as I’ve only finished The Hound of the Baskervilles, A Study in Scarlet and The Sign of Four. Still, they’re great books.
See you tomorrow for Day 4!
